How To Earn Money On eHow

eHow is a great place to earn extra income if you like to write and have a little patience. If you need to make $100 tomorrow, eHow isn't for you. But, if you would be happy with earning an extra $100 a month consistently from your eHow articles, then it's worth looking into!

While eHow isn't a get-rich-quick opportunity, I do know of some prolific writers who have been eHow members for a long time who make $1000-$2000 a month!

That is amazing,..., and probably not typical. I was on eHow for nine months and wrote 103 articles before I was making $100 a month. I believe that this is the more typical experience, and I think that earning $400-$500 a month is eventually realistic if you stick to it.

There are no gimmicks to earning money on eHow. It is a reputable, well-established online community. You make money by writing "How To" articles of any kind and then eHow places advertising around your article when they publish on their site. Your articles will show up in Google searches for the subject you wrote on. If someone clicks on one of the ads around your article, eHow gets paid by the advertiser and they give you a percentage of that. The more ad clicks you get, the more money you make!

While there are no "gimmicks" to earning money on eHow, there are some tips and proven practices that can make your articles better potential money-makers. Read my eHow article below for some things I have learned that have helped me. And don't feel obligated to click on any ads! eHow Article Tips

I will share some eHow Article Tips on this page as I learn more about how to make money on the site. Check back for new ones!

1. Putting relevant keywords in your article title and in the article itself can help you get more article views and therefore more income. You want to include words that people would be using in searches on Google, Bing, Yahoo, and other search engines. You can find out what search terms people are using to find articles like yours by going to the Google Adwords Keyword Tool . Using this tool, you can enter a keyword or phrase from your article in the search box and the page will return results showing what words people are using to search on that subject. If you include some of those terms in either your title or article, it will make your article more likely to appear higher in Google Search results, for example, The higher you rank, the more likely it is that your article will get clicked on!

2. When you are writing an article, there is a section towards the bottom of the "Write An Article" page entitled "Add Related Articles". Clicking on this before you publish your article allows you to select other articles that will appear as links alongside your article. If you have any other articles that relate to the same subject as your new article, search for them and select them to appear with your article. This way, your other articles have a chance of also being viewed by someone who is reading your new article. This in turn can earn youing more money. If you don't select any of your other articles, eHow will select some on it's own, in effect promoting someone else's articles with your article. Why should someone else's articles benefit when you could be promoting your own?

3. After you write and publish an article, go to your article to find out how well you did in selecting your keywords. You do that by seeing what kind of ads Google has placed around your article. If you see ads that directly relate to your article's subject, then you have done a good job of selecting your title and keywords. On the other hand, if you wrote an article about painting a house, but the ads around it are all related to home schooling or hair treatments, then you need to edit your article to include more relevant keywords. Try to figure out what words or phrases might be misleading Google's bots, and then delete them. Replace them with keywords that will do a better job of telling Google what your article is about.
