Checking Your eHow Keyword Effectiveness 03/17/2010
After you write and publish an eHow article, go to it to find out how well you did in selecting your keywords. You do that by seeing what kind of ads Google has placed around your article. If you see ads that directly relate to your article's subject, then you have done a good job of selecting your title and keywords. On the other hand, if you wrote an article about painting a house, but the ads around it are all related to home schooling or hair treatments, then you need to edit your article to include more relevant keywords. Try to figure out what words or phrases might be misleading Google's bots, and then delete them. Replace them with keywords that will do a better job of telling Google what your article is about. eBay often comes up with some ways to help you save money doing what you love to do - make money on eBay! What's their latest money-saver? Their 5 Free Auction listings every 30 days promotion. Every 30 days, you can post 5 auction-style listings for free. That means they won't charge you any listing fee when you post your item for sale. This can at least save you a little money each month on those 5 listings. It can be easy to overlook this, especially if you normally use Fixed Price as your go-to selling method. Consider putting 5 items up per month as auctions and see what happens. Every little bit of money saved is income earned, so take advantage of this offer from eBay while it lasts! How To Make Money On eBay After Christmas 01/01/2010
If you sell on eBay, you normally think of the time leading up to Christmas as your main selling period of the year. But the 3-4 weeks after Christmas are a great time to make money on eBay too! Many people shop on eBay after Christmas. Some do so because they received money as a gift and are looking for a specific item for themselves at a reasonable price. Others didn't get the gift they wanted and are determined to buy it on their own. Many popular items are marked down after Christmas to reduce inventory. If you haven't already done so, start checking the Clearance or Markdown aisles at the major department stores. Walmart, Target, and Kmart, among others, normally move most of their clearance items to a specific aisle, making it easy for you to check out the latest markdowns. If you can find an item that is 50-70% off of it's original retail price, there is a good chance that you could make some money off of it on eBay. I have actually seen the biggest consistent markdowns at Kmart, normally much better than what Walmart will do. Make it a point to check out the clearance aisles anytime you are in a major department store. Markdowns often increase after an item has been on clearance for a while, so the deals can get better the longer it is after Christmas. If you operate an eBay store, it can help your sales to markdown your store items immediately after Christmas. Use the Markdown Manager to lower your prices across the board to attract shoppers looking for a bargain. And what about those gifts that you got that you really didn't need or like? Sell them on eBay! Don't regift them, re-eBay them, and get some good out of them that way! The bottom line is, don't let up after Christmas with your eBay sales. It's actually another great selling season! Happy New Year World! 01/01/2010
It's 2010 - Time to begin again! We need to come up with some good slogans for 2010, but for me, "2010 - Begin Again", will be my theme! I'm ready for a fresh start and a reboot. 2009 was a little strange,..., kind of an awkward, clumsy year. 2010 will be better, I'm sure! Just when I thought that they couldn't take the whole Snuggie/Slanket thing any further, they have taken it to a whole new level! There is now a two-person wearable-blanket called the Kuttle (as in cuddle). The thing is wider than normal and the best thing is, it has, not two, but three armholes! Why, you ask? So that the two of you can sit side-by-side, each with one arm through a sleeve at the edge of it and put your other arms through the middle sleeve together! Could it be that the Kuttle can bring romance back to the average home? Will there be a whole new slew of Kuttle-babies, conceived as a by-product of time spent together in the Kuttle? Who knows! But it's a brave new world out there, people! Kuttle up! My local Walmart in Central Illinois is getting a big shipment of Zhu Zhu Pets in to sell on Monday, Dec. 21st! They already have the pallet of them, but aren't putting them out until Monday morning. Our Walmart will be selling them at 7:00 AM, but some may sell them starting at Midnight. I don't know if this is a nationwide roll-out of more Zhu Zhu Pets, but it would be worth checking it out. They are probably Version 2, with four all new Hamsters. I will be getting some, so I hope you can too! All Things eCommerce 12/01/2009
This blog will be my attempt to share what I know about eCommerce with anyone who cares to listen! My journey into making money online is, in many ways, just beginning. I wouldn't even be at the ground-level position I'm at if it wasn't for others who helped me along the way by generously sharing the knowledge they had gained. That has inspired me, and I want to be that same kind of entrepreneur,..., one who isn't afraid to share "secrets" I have learned if it will help someone else. I will use this blog to post anything I think will help someone else make money online, whether they are using eBay, eHow, Zazzle, Twitter, Facebook, or whatever, to make that happen. This isn't the place to post get-rich-quick scams,..., I just want the stuff that any average person could realistically pull off. Average people like me. And feel free to add your words of wisdom, too! |
